About How Marvel Timelines works

A fan-made guide to how Marvel's films and series fit together across studios, streaming services and universes.

What's covered

Marvel Studios' films and Disney+ series, Fox's X-Men and Fantastic Four films, Sony's Spider-Man and Venom films, the Netflix Defenders shows, Marvel Television's ABC, Hulu and Freeform series, the 2000s films from New Line, Universal and Lionsgate, and the main animated series and films.

How connections are decided

Two titles are linked when they share a story (a sequel, a crossover or a returning character), when one is a major release that the other builds on, or when it feeds straight into Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Everything else is still listed, marked standalone, with nothing drawn just to fill space.

Story years only appear where the film makes them clear. Placements that fans argue about, like Logan, say so.

Keeping it current

The data runs to October 2026. Upcoming releases are tagged upcoming, and cast details only include what has been officially announced.
